Ivanhoe Harriers Athletic Club

is currently seeking a Level 1 Track and Field Coach.

Ivanhoe Harriers Athletic Club, established in 1914, has a long tradition of producing top quality athletes representing the club at 5 Olympic Games and numerous IAAF World championships and Commonwealth Games. Our coaches are committed to helping athletes of all abilities reach their full potential and enjoy their sport.

Being an inclusive club that encourages participation at all levels, Ivanhoe Harriers is seeking a Level 1/Community Athletics Coach to support its role in providing opportunities for people to enjoy athletics.

Based in Greensborough, key responsibilities include:

  • Coaching junior athletes in track events (some field event training on occasion may be required).
  • Engaging and motivating athletes for the 2015/16 AV Summer Athletics Season (October 2015 - March 2016).
  • Submit monthly athlete progress report for the Club President and ‘Cursus’, the club's e-newsletter.

The desired candidate should possess a current and valid Level 1 Coaching Accreditation, WWC Check and demonstrate the following behaviours:

  • Maintaining good relationships with all members of Ivanhoe Harriers Athletic Club and associate parties such as parents, sponsors and AV (Athletics Victoria) officials.
  • Using safe and effective coaching practices.

Remuneration: $35 per hour  (2 hour sessions x 31 sessions from October 2015 - February 2016)
